It’s a fake internal marketing brainstorm:
Chalamet acts like a crazy CEO with wild ideas. Orange Statue of Liberty. Orange Eiffel Tower. Orange blimps. Ping pong balls everywhere.
Every terrible marketing idea in 18 minutes.
It went mega viral because it feels like you’re seeing something you shouldn’t.
My take: “Leaked” content gets shared more than polished announcements.
In 2017, a pub asked a designer for a poster. He screenshotted their iMessage chat and printed THAT as the poster. 12,000 retweets.
Try this with Slack screenshots. Internal memos. “Accidental” drafts.
Leaks > announcements.

Huntress put misspelled URLs on billboards (on purpose)
Cybersecurity company Huntress ran billboards with URLs like:
godaddv.com/huntress
malchimp.com/huntress
adode.co/huntress
The typos are intentional.
They bought those misspelled domains. When you type the wrong URL, you land on their page explaining phishing.
My take: People LOVE catching mistakes. A typo on a billboard makes you look twice. “Wait, did they mess that up?” You give it way more attention than a perfect ad.
No need for a billboard - this works on social too.

This code editor lets you watch TikTok while AI does the work
There’s a new code editor called “Chad” that lets developers watch TikToks, swipe Tinder, and play games while waiting for AI to finish coding.
Sounds ridiculous until you understand the pain point:
AI coding needs 1-5 minutes between prompts.
You’re waiting either way. Why not enjoy it?
They turned “AI is thinking” into “go have fun, we got this”.
Barilla did this with pasta. Their pasta takes 8-11 minutes to cook. So they made Spotify playlists that are exactly that long.
Music stops = pasta ready.
My take: Every product has waiting time (loading screens, processing, shipping, etc).
The marketing idea is to turn waiting into entertainment. Where does your customer wait? What could you put there?

Clay is printing a book of their most ridiculous customers
Clay launched “Clay World Records”.
Users compete to use their product in ABSURD places:
The first Clay table built underwater. On a mountain. On a jet ski.
Claim a record? You get featured on their website, mentioned in a physical book they’re printing, and all the fame ⭐️
My take: Let customers be “first” at something. They’ll create your marketing for free. YouTube did Play Buttons. OpenAI is mailing coins to power users.
What’s something your customers could be “first” or “best” at?
Give them a public way to claim it and praise them for it.

My take: Test this now while it’s weird. First brands to try it get all the press coverage.

What stands out to me is how little of this depends on money and how much depends on psychology. The clip wasn’t a leak at all. It was a smart stunt dressed up as one, and people shared it because it felt like they were seeing something they shouldn’t. Same pattern with the typos and the challenges. You tap the instinct to feel in on the joke or first to spot something, and suddenly the distribution takes care of itself.
