I've been doing something similar inconsistently (that's the truth).

What I do is make a video evaluating what they are doing, what they shouldn't be doing, what they are failing to do, and what they should be doing, changing, or improving.

Normally, I catch their attention, but so far, I haven't closed a sale with this method.

Maybe there isn't enough value in what I do.

Good idea. There's definitely a lot of value in your video analysis. I think the only downside is that cold video messages are overly saturated (i.e. a lot of random people send intro videos; not a lot of random people send product results). If I were you, I'd try to summarize the analysis into an image/doc and send it as well. Worth a test!

Good advice which brings me to a question- I do complimentary engagement audits on LinkedIn as a lead jn to work with me. Usually, a client opts in to have this audit done. Would you suggest that I go ahead and do some for my IC?

Interesting! Can you run those audits without consent/login details? I'd try to force them - don't wait for an opt in

Yes, I do the audits from their posts so no need for logins, etc. So what I've done today was offer a single observation on someone's last post and ask if they would be interested in a complimentary mini audit. Both agreed. The get the results if the mini audit, they have to schedule a 10 minute Zoom with me, I go over my findings and then offer my paid service of a 1 hour Engagement Kickstart strategy call. Both have booked their Zoom calls!! I'm 2 for 2 today 😁

True and proven advice. Sometimes you need prospects' permission or access to give them a freebie taste. But the principle stands!

Any street dealer would tell you that samples 💊 are a must .... LoL

I've seen this sales tactic from my spam inbox:

"I found a few errors on your site.

May I share with you copy of screenshot some of those errors and Free SEO audit of your website?

I’m looking forward to your simply reply yes or sure."

1 - I didn't respond to this

2 - it landed automatically in my spam,

but,

3 - This seems like a better way to reduce the initial cost of outreach when you have a broader prospect list. and do that work after first response. you still do that 'free work' but after a response.
