The tension here is that authenticity and strategy get treated as opposites when they're usually the same decision viewed from different angles. A brand that feels manufactured almost always traces back to messaging built for an audience the founder doesn't actually understand or care about, not to some inherent flaw in having a strategy. The brands that read as genuine tend to be the ones where the strategist actually believed the pitch themselves. That distinction gets lost in most be authentic advice.
